Robin Heisey is a creative director-writer-artist-musician with a strong technology background, runway model looks, and a knack for writing glowing prose about himself in the third person.
Robin has worked with some of the world’s most powerful brands to create content and communications that connect and sell. His category experience includes financial, telecom, tourism, beverage alcohol, automotive, pharmaceutical (ethical and OTC), packaged goods, technology, public sector, airlines, hospitality, QSR’s, fundraising and those tiny little businesses our industry partners with to help fill the pages of awards annuals.
Robin has served on the board of the Advertising and Design Club of Canada and NABS, and currently serves on the boards of the Canadian Marketing Association, TheatreFront, as an advisor to the Humber College Advertising BA program, and on the Art Gallery of Ontario’s Print & Drawing Curatorial Committee.
He has been a frequent speaker, writer and judge at creative conferences, including the Digital Marketing Awards, the Marketing Awards, the Effies, the Cassies, the Bessies (also as Chair), the London International Festival, and others. Robin is particularly experienced when it comes to Cannes, winning multiple Lions (including 2012 and 2013), serving on the 2001 Film jury, and as a Canadian nominee for the 2013 and 2014 Radio jury. He is especially proud of his recent appointment to the Honour Roll of the National Advertising Benevolent Association.
Speaking engagements have included a keynote at the 2013 CMA National Convention, the 2012 CMA Direct Marketing Conference, as co-chair of the CMA’s Business of Ideas (2010, 2011 & 2012, and the upcoming 2015 conference), the Canadian Association Of Broadcasters Annual Convention, FFWD Advertising Week, and the Marketing Awards Symposium in Toronto. Media appearances have included articles in Marketing Magazine, Strategy and Adnews, and appearances on Ad Persuasion, Media Television, Movie Television, TalkTV’s “The Chatroom”, “Writing For The Media” on TVO, and as a model on the cover of Toronto Life – playing the role of a nerd.
